I do enjoy the lasting revival of the 50s and 60s on the catwalks and in the media. Designers like Miuccia Prada, Dolce & Gabbana and Louis Vuitton keep celebrating the old-world-glamour and emphasized femininity. We see circle skirts, short tops, pleats, lace, accentuated waistlines, hourglass silhouettes, flower prints, pointy-toes, decorative collars, big hair and ladylike bags. We see beautifully staged editorials and ad campaigns shot in front of old Cadillacs and nostalgic TV-series like Mad Men and Pan Am.
For instance Vogue US (issue April 2012) features a fashion story Eternal Optimism by Craig McDean’s whereas Vogue Italia (issue March 2012) contains the story Forever Glamour by Solve Sundsbo.
