My Shopping List for May: Statement Necklaces

Since my closet is just bursting at the seams, this time there are only accessories on my shopping list, namely statement necklaces. To be precise statement necklaces are eye-catching, lush, oversized necklaces, filled for example with rhinestones or crystals.

The great thing about statement necklaces is that they can upgrade every outfit in no time. Even a simple T-shirt looks glamorous with such an accessory. Statement necklaces work equally good with any kind of shirts and blouses, sweaters and dresses.

I have countless blouses and shirts and therefore statement necklaces are almost indispensable for me. My favorites are by Kenneth Jay Lane and Venessa Arizaga (both are available at www.net-a-porter.com) and already mentioned statement necklaces from BCBGMAXAZRIA.

Objects of desire: Ballon Bleu de Cartier

I’m a big fan of Cartier and the iconic watch Ballon Bleu de Cartier has been on my wish list since years. I especially like the small model made of polished stainless steel. The feminine size (I must confess I’m not at all into this trend with huge masculine chronographs) and the classic round shape turn it into a timeless piece I could wear at 30 as well as 60. I also think that it’s absolutely universal as it fits casual outfits as well as an evening dress. Last but not least I love its Roman numerals!
