Although the summer in Hamburg has not yet started properly, it is time to actively deal with the trends of the coming season. Because the fashion year is known to be far ahead of the calendar year and the shops are gradually filling up with the new collections.
So let’s have a look at Stella McCartney. Her winter is all about broad shoulders, creases, Marlene trousers, flared skirts, opulent patterns and hourglass silhouettes. The designer remains true to herself and as always combines sporty, masculine, elegant and feminine elements in one collection.
The dominant color of Stella McCartney ready-to-wear winter 2012 is the electrifying blue, combined tone on tone, with white, black or brown. My personal favorites are all the pieces with the stunning hourglass silhouette, especially the knit dress and the knit suit.
On the 14th of May the Chanel Cruise 2012/13 show took place in Versailles and could also be watched live online. This simple fact gives one a bit of a VIP feeling, ’cause former only celebrities and fashion editors got the opportunity to watch fashion shows live, while we, the “mere mortals”, were just allowed to see selected images of the show sometime later.
Well, internet makes everything possible and thus yesterday I enjoyed the new Chanel fashion show sitting comfortably in my personal front row (at home on the couch). I do not have to say much about the collection itself - it is Chanel. The only thing that bothers me a little is the choice of the footwear. Karl Lagerfeld has namely focused on the creepers and in my opinion these do not look beautiful even with a Chanel logo.
Not only clothes are a part of our style, but also what we wear underneath. Thus, unfitting, unattractive underwear may ruin every expensive and glamorous outfit. Furthermore, seductive lingerie is probably one of the most effective weapons of a woman and it’d be not really wise to do without it.
As far as I’m concerned, valuable sensuous lingerie is highly important to me. It’s just a nice feeling to know that I wear a touch of luxury underneath my clothes, even if I’ve a jeans and a T-shirt on. My favorite lingerie brands were Chantelle, La Perla and Agent Provokateur. I say “were”, because I’ve recently discovered a further great brand.
Myla London manufactures heavenly pieces made of lace, silk and satin. The range of the label contains seductive lingerie sets, sleepwear, babydolls, corsets, pyjamas and dressing gowns. Since I own some pieces from the Bodysilk series and a babydoll with matching briefs, I’m absolutely in love with Myla and would like to empty the whole online shop of this brand.
During the Glamour Shopping-Week I have ordered some more stuff from ASOS: 3 cute dresses in my beloved 50s-style.
The first one is a polka-dotted turquoise summer dress. The second one is a sleeveless nude dress with a contrast belt. Finally, the third one is a black dress with 3/4 sleeves and a yellow belt.
All three dresses are in midi length and have A-line skirts. I do hope that the dresses look live as good as they do online! I’m especially looking forward to the second one, as it looks highly elegant in the pics and the light colour would go well with my dark hair.
Rose is my absolute favorite pastel colour and I have found plenty of it in the SS2012 collection of my beloved brand Miu Miu. It offers a wide range of rose-coloured pieces starting with sunglasses and iPad cases through to coats and swimsuits.
Here is just a selection of items that are available online. I love the feminine cuts of the clothes and the cute accessories, especially the retro-inspired handbags. It’s so my style! I would certainly buy the whole collection if I could.
